You have merged two distinct sculptures

[edit]

It appears you are unaware that it is possible for museums to have copies of the same sculpture by the same artist. Perhaps it is wise to first check that the items you wist to merge not only have similar images, artists and titles, but also the museums! In this case, one museum is in Montpelier, and the other is in Paris. These are not the same sculptures. See your merge action here: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q118104845&diff=2159316896&oldid=2159316870 Jane023 (talk) 12:20, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I didn't think that you had to create an item for each version, but rather that you had to list the versions under a single item. Oskra-le-Vain (talk) 14:54, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is possibly true for editions of books, I suppose, because each ISBN number for a book edition individually is not notable enough. The situation is quite different for sculptures that on display in museums. I guess you should think of it as a matter of financial importance. For example, important old Q727715 have their own items. In general, any item currently on permanent display in a museum is notable enough for its own item. Bonjour,

Bonsoir,
J'ai compris mon erreur, merci d'avoir corrigé cela, je sais désormais comment faire. Oskra-le-Vain (talk) 20:12, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
