Revert is not justified

Regarding this revert, a link that goes nowhere is pointless. -- LaddΩ chat ;) 17:08, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not aware that we delete information that is no longer current.

Statut ready/prêt

Salut.

Dear Jura1; I have found / seen template:Wikidata list these days. It should be posible to generate an improved special:Sitematrix. Please see https://www.wikidata.org/?curid=17586175#multiscript_collaboration and the surrounding paragraps. I would like to have a property "WMF fallback language" and if possible another property "preferred font family".
Please help to generate the "overview". The main "key" should be Wikimedia database name (P1800) see claim[1800] and claim[1800] AND noclaim[220] (last link showing what I still need to do).
Please let me know by adding a few links about how to generate, where to place and how to activate the "querry".
Thanks for any help in advance! Best regards and greetings from Munich, Germany Gangleri also aka I18n (talk) 10:23, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I am mainly in the freebase.net IRC channel #kavehoyz .

Hi Gangleri/I18n
It might be easier to focus on the Wikipedia versions first. I did a sample at Wikidata:Database reports/Wikipedia versions. To experiment with it, you might want to add or remove columns. It's possible to retrieve information from other items and display it by using sparql or a template to generate the list. This avoids to repeat too much on the items for Wikipedias. I had P1800 created as we frequently have the database name and need to reference the related item and the link between the two wasn't defined anywhere. Given that it's a key property, we should probably try to define a report that checks if our values are current compared to the Wikimedia site configuration. If you add more similar information, the need for this increases. It might easier to retrieve the other information directly from the Mediawiki configuration. Maybe the dev team can help you with that.

Thank you very much for your fast help Jura! The greatest benefit from the table is the presence of
  1. ISO 15924 alpha-4 or numeric code (P506) (there might be two or more values; for example w:ja: )
  2. script directionality (P1406) (there might be two values; for example w:lad: )
  3. ISO 639-3 code (P220) (used for translator templates at meta: m:category:Translators; the sarting point before I worked for this table)
  4. either ISO 639-1 code (P218) or ISO 639-2 code (P219) (as an alibi for the WMF language code;
these codes are only relevant if the ISO 639-3 code does not equal the WMF language code)
I could see that many wikidata items have been added by you. I could not find the wikibooks so far; There should be a "Wikibooks language edition". I found two wikiquote but no "Wikiquote language edition". Finaly for today there should be also "Wikiversity language edition" and "Wiktionary language edition".

  • Don't hesitate to edit the list definition. It's a wiki! Columns are defined at "|columns=". Once added, click "Manually update list". If it fails the first time, you might have to click it another time.

Thanks! I changed it. I18n (talk) 12:58, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I got two complaints; one at https://www.wikidata.org/?curid=122583#multiscript_collaboration and one in German at https://www.wikidata.org/?curid=23605464#multiscript_collaboration . To my understanding there might be more fixes:
  1. adding the relevant items as "Wikipedia language edition", etc. to an exception list of the relevant constraints
  2. placing the properties as a second level property; I mean adding "qualifiers" as you did in various paces linked to Wikimedia database name (P1800) : claim[1800] or Wikinews language edition (Q20671729) : claim[31:20671729] .
I do not know the syntax to search for qualifiers and provide urls now. Do you know how to search qualifiers / qualifiers with a specified value?
There might be other solutions which would avoid constraint errors and also satisfy the rest of the community.

FYI: I created some new items: Wikiquote, Wikiversity and Wiktionary language edition ; see user:I18n/sandbox#item_Wikimedia_project. I18n (talk) 02:57, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info! At https://www.wikidata.org/?curid=14546815#WMF_projects is the start of a discussion about changing the domain of the properties or not. I created Wikidata:Database reports/WMF projects. Regards I18n (talk) 19:55, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
