Empty Coord in rivers

[edit]

Hi, you have added this empty statement coords to a river. I have deleted the property earlier. What is an property with unknown value good for? [1] Regards Werner2101 (talk)

@Werner2101: The statement also has a reference to GNIS, indicating that the "unknown value" claim is sourced from the GNIS. The GNIS entry names a township, and a topo map, which might help someone research what the location might have been. Generally speaking, there are alternatives to deleting statements in Wikidata. jleedev (talk) 20:19, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, there is a Whiskey Run Road at 39° 53′ 38.99″ N 81° 17′ 22.00″ W, so I might add that but keep the unknown value statement. jleedev (talk) 20:24, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
the GNIS has an extra entry, and anyone can start at the GNIS to get more infos. Sorry, I don't see a benefit in adding nothing/unknown value with a known source. Werner2101 (talk)

RFC17 and RFC17a

[edit]

Thanks for your remark about the text having "Kreznar & Kahn" on each page. Since it also have "RFC 17& 17a" on each page, I created RFC17a like you suggested, and deprecated the second author for the first item (since it is only about the question).

Do you think we should also create a "RFC 17& 17a" item about the published document regrouping the question and the response (with has part(s) (P527) RFC17 and RFC17a) to clarify? — Metamorforme42 (talk) 20:16, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds reasonable. jleedev (talk) 20:18, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Michigan Historical Markers batch 43720 needs description cleanup

[edit]

There was a post to the batch discussion, but didn't receive a reply about cleaning up the descriptions to be consistent with the instance of from https://editgroups.toolforge.org/b/QSv2/43720/ . Are you planning or willing to clean up the inconsistent descriptions from the new instance of for the batch? Wolfgang8741 (talk) 17:51, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In favor of this change being done; don't have bandwidth at this time. Should be straightforward to look at the items in the batch and assert that we are changing the description from "park in the United States of America" to whatever. jleedev (talk) 17:58, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Q2263119 and Q119977257

[edit]

Hi, I call you since I have a constraint violation, I'm notre sure of the relation of Main Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (Q119977257) versus Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh (Q2263119). Is the library par of the museums, or a distinct entity? Fralambert (talk) 17:31, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The entity at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh (Q2263119) refers to both the organization which operates four museums (two of them located on this site, and two elsewhere), and the physical building complex which also includes the museum, recital hall, and library. It would be sensible to separate those two concepts.
Note that the NRHP lists "Carnegie Institute and Library" and the PHLF names the "Carnegie Institute" and "Carnegie Library" separately. See en:Carnegie_Museums_of_Pittsburgh, which manages to name this place in boldface in three distinct ways in the very top line of the article.
So it may be weird to claim , but I think location (P276) is at least the correct property for that relation. I think it's confusing that part of (P361) can describe a physical or organizational part, which can go unnoticed when a physical place and company are conflated. jleedev (talk) 19:52, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I will it seem I will probably create a new item for the NRHP listing is for the two places. Fralambert (talk) 00:37, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've started this at Carnegie Institute and Library (Q121364495) now. jleedev (talk) 02:51, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Fralambert (talk) 19:10, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
