Mass removal E.g. here, why are you removing so many instances of this? —Justin (koavf)TCM 04:43, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am a Quora Employee and am removing contraint violations. The mappings between Quora Topics and Wikidata Entities should be one-to-one. You'll also notice that those topics have been merged on Quora and are no longer topics. JayWacker (talk) 18:27, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: I can vouch for Jay and what he says above. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:45, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@JayWacker, Pigsonthewing: Thanks to you both, guys. I figured something was up that I just didn't understand. —Justin (koavf)TCM 20:48, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Aloevera-1

[edit]

At Aloe vera (Q80079) you removed Aloevera-1 (= Aloe-Vera?merged_tid=2057381) could you please explain why. Thanks. --Succu (talk) 20:46, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What is there to explain? There are several thousand constraint violations. Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P3417#Unique value and they must be resolved. Quora has many duplicate topics that are being merged together. Additionally, the canonical URL should be used to the redirected URL. JayWacker (talk) 21:10, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I was asking about a special topic, not a general contraint. So again: why? BTW: what's a "canonical URL" and a "redirected URL" at Quora? --Succu (talk) 21:25, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Jay's action in this regard was quite correct, and his explanation very clear. The terms "canonical URL" and "redirected URL" are generic, and not specific to Quora. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:44, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why? And I think "Jay" can speak for his/her themself. --Succu (talk) 21:51, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Aloevera-1 no longer exists as a topic on Quora, therefore it should not be referenced on Wikidata. JayWacker (talk) 02:50, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK, Thank you. --Succu (talk) 07:00, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
