If this item really is permanent duplicated item (P2959) of Falkland Islands (Q9648) it should not contain current statements. Even if we want to distinguish islands vs. territorial entity (not sure if it is a good idea), the item needs to be cleaned-up.--Jklamo (talk) 10:43, 15 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, P2959 isn't for wikis like eswiki. It could be seen as a simple duplicate. In this case, all statements should be moved to Q9648.

Most statements on Q9648 seem to be about the BOT, maybe a new item should be made for the archipelago and the sitelinks adjusted accordingly.

I moved the identifiers to Q9648. We can't have them on two different items for the same.

Falkland Islands (Q9648) was linked to Islas Malvinas (territorio británico de ultramar) I changed it and linked it to Islas Malvinas. Now this item is not used by any (live) languaje. --JPLema (talk) 15:30, 4 August 2020 (UTC) Usuario:JPLema[reply]

The "problem" here is two Wikipedias has separated articles for the archipielago and the administrative division: the Spanish Wikipedia and the Latin Wikipedia.

  • Falkland Islands (Q1249802) refers to the archipielago. Wikipedias with two articles about the Malvinas should use this for the archipielago
  • Falkland Islands (Q9648) refers to the administrative division. Wikipedias with one article for both the archipielago and the administrative division, or the Wikipedias with two separated articles should use this statement for the administrative division.

Further discussion at the Spanish Wikipedia.
