Constraints removal[edit]

I've removed two constraints which nag about missing HQ location and inception. Whilst it is desirable we have these, it is not desirable that the property make a pain in the arse of itself about the issue. There are all sorts of desirable properties for an item. Nagging users b/c you happen to be keen on a particular pair of values is not the way to do it. Run a report. Build a bot to get the info from Companies house quietly, in the background. diff --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:34, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of your hatred seems to be directed towards the existence of suggestion constraints itself. Is that a wrong assumption to make? @Tagishsimon:--Trade (talk) 23:16, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Tagishsimon: I don't agree with the removal of these suggestion constraints as they are perfectly valid and not "nagging" anyone. They're there to reflect the fact that the information for those properties exists in the companies house database, nothing to do with anyone's particular interests as you suggest. I can sympathise that the Wikidata UI currently presents suggestion constraints in a way that is misleading about their importance, but the suggestions themselves were fine. --SilentSpike (talk) 15:50, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
