Monolingual string
[edit]Monolingual string is supposed to be used for chemical formulas according to the current version ??? Isn't this a chemistry language ? I also don't get the "is not translated" part. author TomT0m / talk page 21:14, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
Translation of type names
[edit]Where can it be changed? For the "quantity" type, the section name is translated correctly into Russian, but the text in parentheses means ordinal number (номер), not cardinal (число). --AVRS (talk) 08:41, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
lowerBound
[edit]The part about lowerBound and upperBound is outdated! -- Innocent bystander (talk) 18:30, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Entering quantity with unsymmetrical upper and lower bound
[edit]Using the user interface, how can I enter a quantity with upper and lower bounds. For example, if I want to enter the number of seconds in a common year, allowing for as many as 2 positive leap seconds, but no leap seconds, how could I enter 31,536,000 -0 +2 in the user interface? – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jc3s5h (talk • contribs) at 30. 4. 2018, 17:22 (UTC).
- I would like to know the answer to this question, too. At the moment it is not clear how can it be done. - Sarilho1 (talk) 16:44, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
- I'm also interested in this. I don't know how to enter a quantity with different upper and lower uncertainty intervals. I can add that I tried doing this using the API and the user interface shows the larger interval. For example, for {"amount": "+8","unit": "1","upperBound": "+12","lowerBound": "+2"} it shows "8±6", whereas for {"amount": "+8","unit": "1","upperBound": "+12","lowerBound": "+8"} it shows "8±4". --Diegodlh (talk) 00:25, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- This topic might be better brought to WD:DEV. Especially the part where incorrect deviation in one direction is shown deserves attention. --Matěj Suchánek (talk) 12:55, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

Datatype links in brackets basically go to same point
[edit]The link below each datatype, e.g. Commons media file in "type: commonsMedia (Commons media file)" simply links to the header in the line directly above. This is either unnecessary or (what I presume) broken and should point somewhere else. Can anyone confirm or deny that? Adrian Bielefeldt (talk) 16:28, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
data type × datatype
[edit]Both forms can still be seen on the page. Which one should be preferred? Matěj Suchánek (talk) 08:54, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
Sub-sections' order
[edit]I don't see the sort rational in these section, it is not alphabetic, and doesn't seems to be by frequency either. Yug (talk) 11:57, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
- I agree, I have changed the order to be more logical in special:diff/1776937981. --Push-f (talk) 07:18, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Renaming the page to Help:Data types
[edit]Help:Items, Help:Statements, Help:Qualifiers, Help:Properties and Help:Sources are all plural, I don't see any reason why the title of this page should be singular.

"Changing datatype" doesn't quite fit on the page
[edit]It has policy character while the rest of the page is strictly informational. --Push-f (talk) 15:05, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
