The UC Davis Data Models are designed to help our contributors determine what data are required and/or preferred for object creation. These models are influenced by Stanford's Data Models, a set of models that were developed in part during Stanford's participation with the Linked Data for Production (LD4P2) project.
Similar to Stanford, these models are presented at three levels:
- Basic description - the bare minimum to create an item to link to from another item; create object items if not already present
- Core description - additional descriptive elements to support known or likely use cases; create object items if not already present
- Extended description - other possibly useful properties; if object item is not already present, omit the property

Models[edit]
Some predicates are only appropriate for University of California, Davis (Q129421), and should not be used for organizations within the university.

UC Davis Organizations[edit]
Organizations within UC Davis include Colleges, Departments and Lab facilities. See also WikiProject Universities' list of recommended statements for describing schools.
Divisions are no longer included in the university's organizational structure

Schools and Colleges[edit]
Schools should have the University as their direct parent, You should look for a subclass of specialized higher education institution (Q16710795) if it exists as the instance type. Schools and Colleges are Organizations, so follow the instructions in the preceding section on Organizations.
