Discussion
[edit]- Support I don't know of an existing property for clearly stating that something is not used by something. The are some people that have publicly stated that they don't use specific social networks. For example,
- Elon Musk explicitly mentioned that he doesn't use Facebook in this tweet. With this property, we could add this information as Elon Musk (Q317521)does not useFacebook (Q355) and use the tweet I linked as a reference.
- Glenn Greenwald explicitly mentioned that Edward Snowden doesn't use Facebook in an interview (link to clip) (link to full recording). With this property, we could add this information as Edward Snowden (Q13424289)does not useFacebook (Q355) and use the information of the interview as a reference to this specific statement.
- Scarlett Johansson mentioned that she doesn't have a X and Facebook account in this interview. With this property, we could add this information as Scarlett Johansson (Q34436)does not useX (Q918) and Scarlett Johansson (Q34436)does not useFacebook (Q355) and use the interview as a reference.
- Daniel Radcliffe mentioned that he doesn't have a X and Facebook account in an interview to Sky News (Q217228) (link to interview). With this property, we could add this information as Daniel Radcliffe (Q38119)does not useX (Q918) and Daniel Radcliffe (Q38119)does not useFacebook (Q355) and use the interview as a reference.
- Note 1: More of similar examples can't be found in lists that are shown when searching
in most search engines.famous people who don't use social media
- Note 2: If a person human using a social media after they stated that they don't use it, then those statements should be marked as deprecated, but not deleted. I think this rule applies not only for humans but for the domain this property is intended to be used.
- I think this property is useful in scenarios that are similar to the examples mentioned above.

- @Rdrg109: For those examples, we can already enter novalue for the ID with a reference supporting the claim. Also, the old value should not be marked as deprecated unless it was always incorrect (e.g. the person lied). If it was true at the time but the value has since changed, qualifiers like point in time (P585) and end time (P582) should be used instead. - Nikki (talk) 12:17, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
- Comment This should be clarified to only be applicable to common misconceptions. If not, almost every item would qualify to all of the examples. However, I'm not sure this is a good idea for a property. If created, it really should have constraints requiring a source or else we will probably get an inflation of usage of it (hence, all examples should have sources). – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ainali (talk • contribs).
