- Oppose Better to expand the usage of format as a regular expression (P1793). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:35, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment I think the label needs to be more specific - "allowed characters in file names" perhaps? Or as Andy suggests use an existing property with perhaps the applies to part (P518) qualifier pointing to short file name (Q37859386). ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:52, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment @ArthurPSmith, Pigsonthewing: But, isn't format as a regular expression (P1793) only for properties? Giovanni Alfredo Garciliano Díaz ★ diskutujo 21:21, 16 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Giovanni Alfredo Garciliano Diaz: The same properties can be used in statements on regular items or on properties - for example instance of (P31) is used for both. However if the meaning is sufficiently different it might warrant a different property. I'm not sure that's the case here. ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:39, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: In that case, I think use format as a regular expression (P1793) is a better idea. Giovanni Alfredo Garciliano Díaz ★ diskutujo 21:51, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
