Discussion[edit]

@Amadalvarez: It appears that all of the years added in this batch are incorrect. Any thoughts on how this should be fixed? --Quesotiotyo (talk) 22:40, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I rather to have P585, as others awards, instead of deduct year from statement is subject of (P805), to make easier their use. However, I believed that the year in P805 were the award's ceremony year. That why I used incorrectly one year earlier in the values.
So, I can revert the full batch, because the values are incorrect, and rerun it with the correct year in P585.
Agree? Amadalvarez (talk) 06:33, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just to be clear, you will be adding the year of the ceremony itself and not the awarded for period (P4566) value, correct? --Quesotiotyo (talk) 07:45, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My idea was P4566.
But I'll upload what you say. My debate is about have/don't have the qualifier P585, not about what's the correct value. Amadalvarez (talk) 12:10, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do think that the value should be the year when the award was actually presented, which is point in time (P585) on the corresponding Academy Awards ceremony (Q16913666) item (P4566 + 1 in most cases). I would not argue against using the full date, but that can always be derived through statement is subject of (P805).

But, to me, the P585 is a qualifier of the value, it is when was the film done, for instance. In this case, the year I would use for P585 is 1990, it is the same as awarded for period (P4566) in the award ceremony item. Not to be confused with the P585 of the award ceremony item. I think that we're talking about the same content. Is it? Amadalvarez (talk) 17:42, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do not agree. Jim Wilson received his Academy Award on 25 March 1991. Yes, it was for a film that premiered in 1990, but P585 is a qualifier on award received (P166), not for work (P1686) (if you want to be technical, the award was for his work producing the film, which likely spanned several years). Also, using the awarded for period (P4566) value only makes sense when it is a full calendar year, but the first six Academy Awards ceremonies (as well as the 93rd) honored films from two different years. I think it has to be Jim Wilson (Q3808389)award received (P166)Academy Award for Best Picture (Q102427)point in time (P585) (if not ).
