Reference ISBN property[edit]

I've added the "reference ISBN" idea to Help talk:Sources. Comments welcome. - PKM (talk) 20:51, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, PKM: I added to your comment above: "Great idea, but related question Scott_WUaS (talk) 16:45, 17 January 2015 (UTC): Scott_WUaS: in anticipating books' ISBNs written in all 7,870 languages (e.g. in Glottolog - http://glottolog.org/glottolog/language ), what might Wikidata also need to plan for?[reply]

Wikidata and World University and School[edit]

Hi Scott,.. and @Checkingfax: Sorry if it took me so much to reply to you. I was busy with my job. If I have understood what you are looking for, you want to publish your CC courses in a Wikimedia project? Wikidata is not the best place to do that. It's better to publish the content in an other Wikimedia project called wikiversity. You need to ask help from that community to be able to wikify your courses. You can also export your data from Wikia to Wikiversity. You may also ask to add some templates related to Wikiversity but it's not a big issue. The only relationship between what you are looking for and Wikidata can be linking (but not always) a course to a wikidata item. For example the item for HyperText Markup Language links to this page in English Wikiversity.I don't know if I replied correctly to your question, but if you have other questions just ask me, I'm gonna be able to reply more quickly.--Helmoony (talk) 03:39, 28 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Helmoony @Helmoony:,.. and Wayne @Checkingfax:,

Likewise, Helmoony, Sorry if it took me so much to reply to you as well - I'm not yet in the Wikidata/WMF ecosystem at all to speak of. And thanks so much for your note. I just tried to find your email address online unsuccessfully too, so I'll use Wikimedia's internal email and share mine there (but what is your email if you'd care to share it - sgkmacleod@worlduniversityandschool.org is mine). And thanks for your good news re developing World University and School re Wikimedia and in Wikiversity! In many ways, World University and School would like to use this SUBJECT TEMPLATE - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/SUBJECT_TEMPLATE (which informs nearly all 720 WUaS wiki pages in Wikia and only in English so far) - and develop it newly in all 8k languages around MIT OCW in 7 languages and in Wikipedia's 358 languages (see, for example - http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2016/09/liliaceae-wikidata-list-generation.html and http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2016/10/charles-river-just-teach-out-of-mit.html and https://worlduniversityandschool.blogspot.com), so your comments are great news, and doing this in Wikiversity will require a fair amount of help. Wayne (Checkingfax) and I celebrated Wikidata's 4th birthday party with a cake (from WUaS) together in downtown SF. Is Wikiversity in all 358 Wikipedia languages? How many languages in Wikiversity in? Thank you, Helmoony, so much! Scott_WUaS (talk) 12:45, 13 December 2016 (PST)
