Hi[edit]

Could you teach me how you use OpenRefine to create episodes of TV shows Trade (talk) 20:33, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I load my data from an Excel sheet listing the title, description, follows, followed by, season, no. in season, no. overall, publication date, and production code if that's available (made in Google Sheets). Reconcile every column to create a new item for each cell except the season column which you reconcile as natural number then change each match to "X show, season 1", "X show, season 2", etc.
After reconciling each column, a schema is built and I match the reconciled columns to each value then upload the edits. I do the follows/followed by by copying the reconciliation data after the items areemad
This is the best explanation I can come up with, there's also tutorials on YouTube on how to use this software. 1033Forest (talk) 00:45, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could you upload one of your Excel sheet listings to Mediafire so i can check it out? Or just whatever file upload site of your choice Trade (talk) 22:12, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can try and share one of them since they are on Google Sheets. 1033Forest (talk) 01:33, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How long would you estimate it takes to make a spreadsheet for a standard TV show season (24 ep)? Trade (talk) 02:32, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I import the table, copy the table to another sheet then remove the rows. Takes about a few minutes or so I think 1033Forest (talk) 02:36, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Any update? Trade (talk) 16:15, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I've been too busy with adding a bunch of other TV show episodes. But I can show you one of the sheets I've made for a TV episode listing:

This is the one I made for Odd Squad earlier that I uploaded to OpenRefine to make the edits for. I had to copy and paste each one separately and it took a while because the items are for both segments. 1033Forest (talk) 16:27, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Any programs you can recommend for making the sheets? Not in the mood of dealing with Google Accounts Trade (talk) 16:38, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Use Microsoft Excel, I think that's what Google Sheets is based off. 1033Forest (talk) 18:10, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

fictional geographic location (Q116780221)[edit]

Please don't use this on items. It's way too broad and unspecific Trade (talk) 21:23, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I understand now for when I create future fiction items. 1033Forest (talk) 21:24, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
