For A to be a subclass of (P279) B, all instance of (P31) A must also be instances of B. For most of the items with "subclass of use status" statements (see this query), that's fine: e.g., no one is going to say a building is an instance of (P31) in use (Q55654238), instead they may say it has quality (P1552) in use (Q55654238). However, several of the items - exhibit (Q9252000), proposed building or structure (Q811683), building or structure under construction (Q12377751), structure under reconstruction (Q63187954), closed educational institution (Q108911597) - describe not just a status, but a class of items that have that status. There are many items that are identified as instances of these classes, and those items are structures (or institutions), not statuses. Calling these classes subclasses of use status leads to a chain of incorrect inferences.
