At Wikidata:WikiProject_Names/reports/given_names/Italian, I experimented with several queries on page. This is indeed helpful:

  • One can edit all at once
  • One doesn't need to create and transclude countless subpages
  • One can easily adapt them to another topic (another language in this sample).

Great tool, thanks for adding it. BTW I notice a few problems:

  • If one fails, the entire update fails.
  • It's somewhat hard to figure out which query fails, if one doesn't work.
  • If a query fails due to lack of data, the entire update fails (this is a problems for the "checks" on the above report as eventually they should all have zero results.

Maybe a status message could be added (in the summary with itemnumber), if the last update would add zero results.

Another solution could be to log errors as comments in the wikitext of the list (if there is more than one Listeria list on the page)

Oddly one on has zero results while the update of fails with "zero items to show"
