there were already 3 data page with same name "Vattiyoorkavu". 2 of them were empty, so i cleared both because it was making confusion. is there smthing wrong with that?

Yes, the right way to do so is to merge them. Also 3 pages with the same name do not mean that they are about the same thing. One can be a town, the other a constituency for local and the other for national elections.
