I've started to change characters from mythological to entirely fictional (specific to Homer's) but they're too many. May be someone will help sometime... --Infovarius (talk) 15:43, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

someone should make a wikisource link to https://el.wikisource.org/wiki/%CE%99%CE%BB%CE%B9%CE%AC%CF%82 Exarchus (talk) 19:30, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It is listed under has edition or translation (P747) the for the edition Ilias (Q106691407). Each published edition gets its own data item and listing. We do this so that the publication information can be entered into Wikidata. The Greek text at el.WS comes from the set published through Oxford University in 1920. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:59, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@EncycloPetey Sorry for late reply, but then why is there a link from the Greek text to 9 other languages, but not the reverse? Exarchus (talk) 22:04, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You'll need to provide more information to explain what you are asking. Where are you seeing these links, or not seeing links? --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:07, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, at this Greek page I'm seeing '9 γλώσσες' and when I click on 'English' (so here), there are only 8 other languages listed. Exarchus (talk) 22:24, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The issue is that the Greek edition is set up incorrectly here on Wikidata. A separate data item should be set up for the Greek text, to indicate which publication the text comes from. The rreason that all the other Wikisource pages interconnect is that they are set up correctly, with a versions page at the local Wikisource.-- EncycloPetey (talk) 22:41, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
