Up until recently it appeared that submarine (Q2811) was disjoint from {ship (Q11446), but now this is no longer the case because of this class. Should submarine be disjoint from ship? Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 03:21, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can we keep submarines separate. And a nuclear ship is a carrier or icebreaker to me Vicarage (talk) 04:58, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Both are subclasses of vessel (Q16391167), which makes it possible to choose if you want to include submarines together with ships in a query. However, it could be a good idea to make submarine (Q2811) a subclass of watercraft (Q1229765) instead. --Cavernia (talk) 07:11, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
submarine (Q2811) is already indirectly a subclass of watercraft (Q1229765), through underwater vehicle (Q19623198).
The issue here is that nuclear submarine (Q757554) - this class - is a subclass of nuclear-powered ship (Q122937890) which is a subclass of ship (Q11446). The way to maintain separation is to create a class for nuclear powered watercraft and use it instead of nuclear-powered ship (Q122937890) here (and make nuclear-powered ship (Q122937890) a subclass of it as well). OK, I added nuclear-powered watercraft (Q122986245) and fixed up the appropriate links. Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 16:38, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
