Gemeinde in Frankreich
[edit]Ich wählte diese deutsche Bezeichnung des Datensatzes, damit bei allen Gemeinden, denen dieses Merkmal zugewiesen wurde, bei jeder Bildschirmdarstellung auf Anhieb erkennbar wird, dass sie mit dem Artikel über Gemeinden in Frankreich verlinkt sind. International gesehen gibt es eine ganze Reihe länderspezifischer Artikel über Gemeinde. Sie alle gleichlautend unter der Bezeichnung Gemeinde zu führen, erschwert die Auswahl und das Finden des einzig richtigen länderspezifischen Datensatzes unnötig.Das schrittweise Abgehen von der Bezeichnung Gemeinde in Frankreich - über Gemeinde (Frankreich) auf Gemeinde halte ich für wenig praxisorientiert und habe es wieder zurückgeführt. --Brühl (talk) 13:16, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
Communes are not part of cantons

About this diff:
- Communes are not part of cantons, nor vice-versa, and have never been. They have a overlap that sometimes match perfectly (ie a canton covers exactly the territory of x communes, or a commune covers exactly the territory of y cantons, but other times a canton can have half a commune and one third of another one, etc. @Alphos: made a quite good blog article about it, I suggest you read it: https://wordpress.alphos.fr/2016/08/05/874/communes-orphelines/
- As for arrondissement of France (Q194203): communes have been part of it since their creation by Napoléon, so the start date should be on 28 pluviôse an VIII, not in 2015. Why 2015 in the first place? -Ash Crow (talk)
