Classification[edit]

I'm unconvinced that "subclass of" is the correct relationship from "data" to "information".

@DouglasReay: Tough subject :) Seeing the Stanford encyclopedia article, I would say this can be dependant of the definition of information and it is a highly philosophical topic. I those cases it's preferable to create items with a precise meaning that can more easily linked to other items. We may use an approach similar to the one proposed in this paper and mark this item as information definition with a definition such as

⟨ information as a set of datas on an object ⟩ instance of (P31) ⟨ information definition ⟩

, for example.

In that sense, we could also adopt the approach of creating a subclass of class (Q17519152) like GROUP OF DATA, with

⟨ information as a set of datas on an object ⟩ subclass of (P279) ⟨ group of data ⟩

. Of course, we would also to find a way an (instance of) information to the object it refers to, maybe a property like main subject (P921)
