This is a property which often needs to be referenced, as it is a matter of taxonomy. A taxon that according to one author has just one subordinate taxon, may well have five hundred subordinate taxa according to another author. So like other taxonomic properties (like parent taxon), this often needs a reference, and a real taxonomic one at that (not just ITIS or another such internet source). - Brya (talk) 06:11, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
