Real book / fictional book[edit]

@Infovarius, Maxlath: Regarding whether the author (P50) is Beedle the Bard (Q15273054): I think it would be appropriate to split this into two separate items, one for the fictional book within the HP universe of the genre children's fairytales written by Beedle the Bard in the 15th century, and one for the real book of the fantasy genre written by J. K. Rowling published in 2008. One could link to the other by some property. The fact that this item currently has both takes place in fictional universe (P1434) and from narrative universe (P1080) is quite confusing. --Yair rand (talk) 22:10, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Yair rand: yes! That would still be reported as a constrain violation of the author (P50) though. Ideally, the instance of (P31) should link to something like "fictive book/work", but I couldn't find something of this kind -- Maxlath (talk) 23:22, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Maxlath: There actually is fictional book (Q74574), which is currently used on this page. Regarding P50's constraint, perhaps that should be changed to allow fictional character (Q95074), with a complex constraint limiting its use as an author value to fictional books. --Yair rand (talk) 23:33, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Yair rand: Indeed! And it seems that the distinction is already done between Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Q194424) and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Q27922145), so I went on splitting this one too, creating The Tales of Beedle the Bard (Q43050278) and moving the claims that seemed appropriate there. -- Maxlath (talk) 00:25, 13 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
