Hier wohnte Joseph Berliner 22. Aug. 1858 - 23. Mai 1938 Unternehmer. Mit seinem Bruder Emil, dem Erfinder der Schallplatte, errichtete er 1898 in Hannover die erste Schallplattenfabrik der Welt. 1895-1938 lebte er hier mit Frau Therese (gest. 1934) und Tochter Klara. 1921-1938 war er Vorsitzender der Synagogengemeinde. Klara Berliner wurde enteignet und am 16.3.1943 deportiert. Sie kam im Ghetto Theresienstadt um. Die Villa Simon war 1860 für Obergerichtsanwalt Eduard Simon gebaut worden. Architekt war Heinrich Christian Tramm. (German)
This is where Joseph Berliner lived 22 Aug. 1858 - 23 May 1938 entrepreneurs. Together with his brother Emil, the inventor of the record, he built the world's first record factory in Hanover in 1898. In 1895-1938 he lived here with Mrs. Therese (d. 1934) and daughter Klara. In 1921-1938 he was chairman of the synagogue community. Klara Berliner was expropriated and deported on March 16, 1943. She died in the Theresienstadt ghetto. Villa Simon was built in 1860 for District Attorney Eduard Simon. The architect was Heinrich Christian Tramm. (English)
