1st and 3rd senses[edit]

Could you elaborate the difference between them? Infovarius (talk) 14:04, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@VIGNERON I agree, for a showcased item it's surprising for me at least that it has two senses with identical item for this sense (P5137) value. --Marsupium (talk) 22:31, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Infovarius, Marsupium: it's indeed two senses with very little difference ; I elaborated a bit the gloses, what do you think? It's not perfect but I hope it help to grasp the subtlety. PS: it's not (AFAIK) a showcased item. Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 07:43, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the improvement and the reply! I think it looks better now. I've created the separate item potter's clay (Q123847233) reflecting sense 3 (pri (L630387-S3)). It also has the separate Art & Architecture Thesaurus entry potter's clay (300010453).
The item was mentioned as a showcase item in Wikidata:Status updates/2023 12 11#Did you know? (added here) which doesn't make much sense to me considering that it's not mentioned on Wikidata:Showcase lexemes and neither meets the criteria noted there. But this doesn't really concern the original question. --Marsupium (talk) 10:43, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot @Marsupium:, I was reluctant to create a specific item, thanks for finding a source and creating it.
Thanks also for letting me know of the highlight by @Danny Benjafield (WMDE):, I missed it somehow... since it's indeed showcased, I improved this lexeme (add source, etymology, example and forms, there is still a lot to do but at least it's closer to what we expect a showcase item to be).
