[edit]- number of experiments per year/expedition grouped by sponsoring agency. This will show growth in scientific output (measured by number of distinct experiments happening) over time, and which agencies are doing the most - absolute and/or proportional
- Which academic journals are the most common publication location of the resulting scholarly articles
- Which are the most common sponsoring universities/agencies for individual experiments (over time)?
- Is it possible to do a graph-representation of the ISS itself, with each segment/module connected to the next?
- What is the gender ratio of the 'principal investigators' of the experiments - over time?, by sponsoring agency?
- Number of experiments in each category over time
To Do
[edit]From the NASA Database - all of the "experiments" have now been scraped and uploaded to WD using NASA International Space Station experiment ID (P11112) . Still missing:
- Agency
- Which experiments were sponsored/built by which organisations/universities/space-agencies. Currently not possible to sort (for example) the ESA sponsored research from the NASA sponsored research.
- Structure
- It'd be ideal to indicate the location of experiments on the ISS to a specific segment/module - e.g. eventually it'd be possible to show which modules produced which papers.
- Items
- This is a general module name that has four other specific ones that should be worked into the physical configuration: ExPRESS Logistics Carrier (Q766213)
- Spreadsheet An extract of the NASA experiment database. needing OpenRefine cleaning and reconciliation.
- Extract and disambiguate the "principal investigator" list, identify which already have WD items.
- Convert the most common ones from from author name string (P2093) to author (P50) .
- Publications - done! DOIS and their QIDs
- Each publication will needs its authors converted from author name string (P2093) to author (P50) (probably via the https://author-disambiguator.toolforge.org/work_item_oauth.php Author Disambiguator tool)
- Publications listed as "results publications" have been linked to their experiements via describes a project that uses (P4510).
- Extract and disambiguate the "principal investigator" list, identify which already have WD items.
