A label-a-thon is planned to add and improve Malayalam labels in Wikidata on this September 2020 as a series of training workshops by Wikimedians of Kerala User Group. This online event is organized during Onam holidays to add and improve Malayalam labels and contribute more information in Malayalam language to Wikidata. The primary objective of this "label-a-thon" is to expand and improve the labels in Malayalam language for items related to Kerala and Malayalam. You may join by adding your name in the #Participants section below (please note that inactive participants may be removed from the list).
You should abide by the guidelines listed in Help:Label.
Use the most common name of an entity for its label. Abbreviations or longer, official, or less common names are used as aliases.
e.g. "തൃശ്ശൂർ" is the Malayalam label for തൃശ്ശൂർ (Q163798), while "തൃശ്ശിവപേരൂർ" and "തൃശൂർ" are aliases for that item.
Avoid adding honorifics and titles to the label for a person
e.g. സ്വാമി പ്രഭുപാദ് (Q234898) does not need "വിശുദ്ധ" in the label (or in any aliases, for that matter), and other titles such as "മേജർ ജനറൽ" or "ശ്രീ(മതി)" for others need not be added either.
Below listed task contains link to
TABernacle tool that helps to add labels. It then shows a tabular view, with one item per row. You can add labels via a double click on the red box.
Wikidata Terminator tool that is a another tool for editing from mobile phones. You can add missing labels and click on the tick mark to submit the entry.
If you are picking up a task add {{Doing}} - ~~~~ next to it to notify others that you are working on it.
You are welcome to mark a task as done by adding {{Done}} next to the query if the results from that query are complete.
Different tools are available for adding labels to items. You can add Malayalam labels manually or using any tools.
Here are some of the tasks that you can work on (but not limited to). You can also add labels to Random items manually if you wish to. The numbers denoted next to the short and long tasks denotes the number of items without labels at the start state of that task.
