Aim and Scope[edit]

The Chopin Thematic Catalog Concordance project (Q121600181) is an effort by members of the Music Library Association (MLA) Linked Data Working Group (LDWG) to create and enhance Wikidata items for Frédéric Chopin's musical works.

Some composers have one authoritative thematic index, which, like the catalogue raisonné of a visual artist, organizes and disambiguates the complete oeuvre of that artist. Chopin's works are described by several thematic catalogs, each of which uses a separate numbering scheme: the Brown catalog, Chomiński catalog, and Kobylańska catalog.

Timeline[edit]

Work began in Summer 2023.

References[edit]

Most statements should have references. References to Ryom should include a publication date (P577) to distinguish between editions. References to Grove Music Online (Q30532476) can include a reference URL (P854) or title (P1476) (of article) and date retrieved (P813). If you are editing items manually, we strongly encourage going to Preferences > Gadgets and enabling DuplicateReferences, which will add buttons to copy-paste references between statements.
