Wikidata:Pauken

This is a help page for the Pauken! tool. It uses Wikidata items as a basis, lexemes that link to these items, images and pronounciation audio from Commons. You can add and change the pre-defined lists here.

Learn

Select the language you want to learn from the drop-down box. The URL will change accordingly, so you can copy/bookmark it.

Reveal

The reveal mode shows images and (if available) pronounciation audio, but not the written word in the selected language. Click on the image to reveal the word, and check if you got it right. Click again to hide the word.

Pick

This only works if there is pronounciation audio for at least one item. Play the pronounciation audio on top, then click on the matching image. The item will flash green if correct, or red if not; in that case, the correct solution will flash in blue. After one second, the color highliting vanishes, and a new random audio will be selected and played.
