The statements in bold are the minimum you should add for every company you create on Wikidata. The remaining statements show other common information that is very useful to add.
Label = Name of company
Description = a description of the company
- Instance of (either company, non-profit or charity)
- Industry
- Funder (EIB and other funders)
- Country (add as many statements as needed)
- Official website
- Street address
- headquarters location
- Owned by (for companies that are owned by other companies, governments etc)
- Legal form (describes the kind of organisation eg a corporation, a limited liability company etc)
- Described at URL (a good property to link to blog posts about companies, even if you’ve already used it as a reference)
- Funding scheme (if the company has been financed under a specific EU scheme, you may need to create the item for it)
- Social media (no reference needed since the value is a link)
- Twitter user name
- Instagram user name
- (there are properties for other social media in Wikidata:List of Properties)
If you want to add statements about employees, founders or other people connected to the company please do that on their items except for CEO or other senior positions . You can find information about how to create items for people on the Wiki Education Wikidata course modules.
