How to add information about a new Pokémon

[edit]

See Bulbasaur (Q847571) as example.

Name

[edit]

Add as many name as possible for each language. At least the languages are:

  • German (de)
  • English (en)
  • French (fr)
  • Italian (it)
  • Japanese (ja)
  • Korean (ko)
  • Chinese (zh)

Description

[edit]

Add the following descriptions to each language:

  • "specie di Pokémon" (it)

Alias

[edit]

An alias is added in this cases:

  1. the name of the Pokémon in a language is different from the English version. Then, the English name of the Pokémon must be added. Example: in French Bulbasaur (Q847571) is named "Bulbizarre" so that's the label of the item and "Bublasaur" is an alias.
  2. the language uses many different alphabets: an alias must be added for each alphabet. Example: in Japanese Bulbasaur (Q847571) is named フシギダネ/Fushigidane so フシギダネ is the label of the item and Fushigidane is an alias.

Types

[edit]

instance of (P31) defines the type of Pokémon. Choose one or more from the list below:

If you add more than one type you should add applies to part (P518) as qualifier to define first type (Q25931659) and second type (Q25931668).

In case of unknown Pokémon type just use instance of (P31) with Pokémon species (Q3966183).

By now there isn't a method to define the change of type (e.g. Clefairy (Q1307681) up to V generation was normal-type Pokémon (Q25930498) but since VI generation it is fairy-type Pokémon (Q25930814)), so just leave the latest valid type (e.g. fairy-type Pokémon (Q25930814) if the subject is Clefairy (Q1307681)).

Starter

[edit]

If the Pokémon is a starter, you should add starter Pokémon (Q15141638) to instance of (P31). In order to specify in which game it is a starter, you should add of (P642) as a qualifier and the item(s) of the game(s) as value(s).

Just add the property with Pokémon universe (Q17562848).

Add the height of the Pokémon in both metres and inches. Don't forget to add the references! You can find some data on official Pokédex and then use external data available at URL (P1325) with the link to the Pokémon's page on Pokédex.

Add the mass of the Pokémon in both kilograms and pounds. Don't forget to add the references! You can find some data on official Pokédex and then use external data available at URL (P1325) with the link to the Pokémon's page on Pokédex.

Evolution

[edit]

If its whole evolutionary line is known and is present on Wikidata, just add it to part of (P361) with the following qualifiers:

  • follows (P155) to specify the preceding Pokémon in the evolutionary line. In case there isn't any Pokémon before the subject in the evolutionary line, add Pokémon egg (Q18129517)
  • followed by (P156) to specify the following Pokémon in the evolutionary line. In case there isn't any Pokémon before the subject in the evolutionary line, set the value as no value

If the Pokémon is known not to have an evolution or a pre-evolution, add Pokémon without evolution (Q25707067) to part of (P361).

It is not possible right now to define how a Pokémon evolves, because of its complexity.

Generation

[edit]

Just add to part of (P361) an item from the list below:

with the following qualifiers:

  • follows (P155) to specify the preceding Pokémon in the Pokédex of the Pokédex of the same generation. In case there isn't any Pokémon before the subject, set the valure as no value
  • followed by (P156) to specify the following Pokémon in the Pokédex of the Pokédex of the same generation. In case there isn't any Pokémon before the subject, set the valure as no value

Egg group

[edit]

Just add the item(s) of the Pokémon egg group to part of (P361) from the list below:

For every code of single Pokédexes you should add the code and the following qualifiers:

In case the code doesn't exist add this property with unknown values everywhere but of (P642).

Last, set the code of National Pokédex (Q20005020) as preferred.

For every code of single Pokémon browser you should add the code and the following qualifiers:

In case the code doesn't exist don't add this property.

  • Chinese (zh)

Description

[edit]

Add the following descriptions to each language:

  • "mossa di Pokémon" (it)
