I've reverted most of your edits in this item. The reason is simple: this item is about a specific chemical compound, i.e. (2R,3S,4R,5R)-6-[2-(dimethylamino)acetyl]oxy-2,3,4,5-tetrahydroxyhexanoic acid. It is not about a group of compounds under the collective name 'pangamic acid' like described in e.g. en.wiki article. Sitelinks (Wikipedia articles) do not define the item, nor labels, descriptions, aliases. Only statements define the item and in this case the item is very clearly defined based on InChI, SMILES etc.

The controversy regarding a group of compounds collectively named 'pangamate' or 'pangamic acid' could be described in other item, maybe en.wiki article should be moved to such new item then, but at the moment Q420405 is not the right place to describe it. Regards

Thanks, I guess. I was thinking about making a discussion somewhere.

The thing here is we got a lot of labels connecting it to the hoax; so do the bunch of Great Russian Encyclopedia IDs, freebase, etc. From my reading I believe we should have an item for the allegedly-existing-but-likely-not (2R,3S,4R,5R)-6-[2-(dimethylamino)acetyl]oxy-2,3,4,5-tetrahydroxyhexanoic acid like we already have, a true pang… acid item, and connect between them using said to be the same as. The splliting and IDs will unfortunately take some while, so I have not yet made up the mind to do it.
