Misnomer / narrowed definition
[edit]Please note that describing a "silver medal" as a "medal awarded in sports and other competitions for achieving 2nd place" and nothing else (and correspondingly in other languages) is an arbitrary and unjustified narrowing of concept. Rather, in the first instance a "silver medal" is just a "medal made of silver", created for whatever purpose, and as such a numismatic object. Only a subclass to be named, say, "silver medal (competition)" would warrant the above description.
Unless any better solution comes up, I will make respective changes in due course. -- HReuter (talk) 21:42, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
