Runic
[edit]"Runic" is the formal name for this script as given by ISO 15924 (Q16866) in normative file for the representation of names of scripts (search for code Runr). There is no problem Runic being (derived from) an adjective, one can easily say "This text is written in Runic". Same as Cyrillic, Gothic, Latin, etc. Also, a label here is not the same as the description, we are supposed to resist the temptation to make the label descriptive. (If one finds this problematic, one can use "Runic script"). I propose to make the en:label "Runic". -DePiep (talk) 15:16, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Well, I get what you're saying but the article on enwp uses Runes, shouldn't the label here reflect that? Sabelöga (talk) 15:49, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Sabelöga: That can be in the "Also known as" labels (+will help searches). If top label "Runic script" is ok for you, then please edit it. -DePiep (talk) 20:07, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
