En-wiki Competence (law) does not belong here[edit]
The topic of the en-wiki article w:Competence (law) does not belong in Q572718. Although the English title is almost identical as some of the other articles here (es:w:Competencia (derecho), pt:Competência (direito), it:Competenza (diritto))), the topic is a completely different one, that has nothing to do with this. It should not be added back here. Mathglot (talk) 06:18, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- It appears the en-wiki is the wrong article. It does not represent a global view on the matter. What the english article describes is similar to the legal capacity wikidata: the capacity to acquire rights and obligations which can be affect by the mental state of a person.
- In continental law, Jurisdiction is the power the State has to say the law within its territory; Competence is the exercise of such power by each of the courts within their respective area of competence. All articles in the other languages have that same definition (for example, germany: Rechtsprechung (jurisdiction) and Zuständigkeit (competence); or spanish: Jurisdicción (jurisdiction) and Competencia (competence); or italian: Giurisdizione (jurisdiction) and Competenza (competence)).
