"Girls" English alias[edit]
Hi @1Veertje, can you please explain what you mean by "Also outdated databases need to be reconciled sometime" in this edit? I maintain that it's not appropriate to refer to them as "girls" in English, it's demeaning. More to the point I've never seen that term/name used in any English text to make it a useful alias. - I failed to reconcile my old data because the alias was previously absent. I fully agree that it shouldn't be used currently, but that doesn't change that it used to be use. Per this eBay auction it seems it was used as recently as the '90's. 1Veertje (talk) 18:17, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Legoktm: I am not sure I would consider that demeaning, however I can see the potential for some to consider it so. Regardless "UCONN Girls basketball" can also be found in recent news, e.g.: 2024-04-05 "92-year-old UConn fan from Cleveland living dream of seeing Huskies play in Final Four" WEWS-TV (Q2311186). —Uzume (talk) 03:40, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
