Frank de Noé (François-Thomas) 1806-1887 and Louis-Robert-Jean de Noé 1809-1865 were brothers, and obviously not the same person. Both were refered to as Vicomte de Noé, as were their other brothers, William Mailand de Noé 1806-1865 and Charles Amédée de Noé, known as Cham 1819-1879, though Frank was also known as the Marquis de Noé. Frank was an officer of the Société botanique de France. His brother was not, though the brother served in the military in Tunisia and Algeria, where Frank's botanical studies were centered. None of the brothers died in 1871.
