[edit]@გიო ოქრო: I'm fine with whatever contrary statement you might have for Arion, but 1) please back them with a reliable source (local Wikipedias aren't) and 2) please don't remove sourced statement because you disagree with them : stating floruit (P1317)628-625/4 B.C is exactly what is indicated in the Perseus project (which is an academic source) and it should be kept as such, doesn't matter if they are right or wrong or if other sources disagree. We can decide afterwards whichever should be preferred, but all should be kept. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 19:22, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- Academic sources mention the centuries of his activity. See: Great Russian Encyclopedia, Volume 2, 2005 (in Russian) and Orthographic Dictionary of Foreign Person Names, 1989 (in Georgian). Both indicate centuries. How do you imagine the work of a famous poet in just three years? Note also that the information contained in Wikidata is reflected in the infoboxes of other Wikipedias. The version you are requesting restoration showed on Wikipedia (for example, in Georgian wiki) that the poet was active in 620 BC.--გიო ოქრო (talk) 16:20, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- What I imagine is of little importance against what sources state, and one of them states than he was known to be alive between 628 and 625/4, for which the use of floruit (P1317) is justified. At most we are allowed to say that this statement should be deprecated because it is false, but not to remove it. If it causes a problem with an infobox on a local Wikipedia, the problems is that the infobox is not interpretating correctly the data, not that the data should be removed. Also add your sources to the declaration, not here. --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 17:24, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
