Not to be confused with booster (Q741745)
[edit]Discussion moved from Wikidata:Project chat#To move certain items from Q741745 to Q26331278
- This item should not be confused with booster (Q741745).
pl:Silnik startowy, ru:Стартовый двигатель and es:Motor principal (cohete) are not actually "boosters." Considering that booster or boost engine cutoff (BECO) is only a type of a powerplant's element, which could collectively be referred to as a "boost engine" or, more precisely, a "start engine" (an umbrella term,) which is a direct translation of Polish Silnik startowy, Russian Стартовый двигатель, close-to-the-original-meaning translation of Spanish Motor principal, and corresponding terms and expressions in other languages. Even more than that, it leads to a confusion and a misrepresentation of terms, since in the Polish, and in the Russian language, a boost engine as a part of a boost stage is a 2nd stage-component of a multistage rocket, which ignites after start engine's mission is finished. Of course, it could be a multiregime mix of it, which would be referred to as a "start[and]boost engine" (Russian стартово-разгонный двигатель,) but it is not only one variety. -- 93.73.36.17 20:02, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
