year when Kathrine Crane became president[edit]
There is a source that suggests that Katherine Crane became president in late 2016. The source is:
- title: National Prayer Breakfast Group Has New Leadership
- author: Jonathan Larsen
- date: 7 December 2018
- outlet: The Young Turks (TYT)
- url: https://tyt.com/reports/4vZLCHuQrYE4uKagy0oyMA/5aR0uGwiWkcwKKQS86iSUk
The author claims that Crane appears listed as president on the IRS yr2016 Form-990 (along with the previous president still being listed), and thusly suggests that Crane became president "in late 2016." Crane is listed (indeed) as president on the yr2017 Form-990 (not disputed). But Crane is not listed as president in 2016 as the author claims. She only appears listed (on Form-990) as president starting in 2017. So I am going with the date that she became president in 2017 rather than 2016. My conclusion could still be wrong and the TYT author correct (since Form-990s are not at all always precisely correct), but the author did make a mistake there in thinking that Crane was listed as "president" on the 2016 form. What might be likely is that the yr2016 form was filed in 2017 for their tax-year 2016 and that Crane had become president in the mean time, leading to the confusion.
