Municipality to frazione[edit]

@Francians, Sannita (WMIT), Blackcat: Since you participated in the change of this object from municipality to frazione. I have restored and added data with end date June 30, 2020 or start date July 1, 2020 since prior to those date it was a municipality. Personally I have never understood the advantage of abolished municipality in Italy (Q3685476) with start time (P580) over commune of Italy (Q747074) with end time (P582) since if was a municipality it should have commune of Italy (Q747074) with end time (P582) anyhow. If you think these type of changes should be present in the object other municipalitie objects that changed to frazione may have to be updated. Maundwiki (talk) 20:41, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Maundwiki: well, it seems easy to understand to me. abolished municipality in Italy (Q3685476) is a subclass of commune of Italy (Q747074), thus no point in indicating both. If a locality is a former municipality of Italy since 1st July 2020, it's implied that used to be a municipality until the day before, thus pointless to indicate. -- Blackcat 20:48, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Blackcat: Not if we have a start date for the municipality. That would be hard to fit in abolished municipality in Italy (Q3685476). I think there are some that had been merged and than merged again. (or I may be thinking of Germany). In any case shouldn't the prior located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) Province of Pesaro and Urbino (Q16241) be in the object? Maundwiki (talk) 20:59, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Blackcat: An example Faedo (Q286544) that between 1928 and 1953 was part of San Michele all'Adige according to text on the Italian wikipedia. In this case the start date would be 1953 for commune of Italy (Q747074). Maundwiki (talk) 21:13, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
