Date of death[edit]

@555: I had stated the date of death both as "1877" and "unknown, earliest 1877" because some sources say 1877 for sure, while others ([1]) say "unknown date". And [2] says that his daughter Olinda died in 1877, and after she died he dedicated a book to her, so that gives a date post quem. In 1877 he would have been only 49, so it is perfectly possible that he died later. I'm not sure how best to represent all the situation. (BTW, I cannot add a reference for an unknown value?) I personally think that the most feasible option is to register 1877 only as uncertain value in this scenario. Is possible that 1877 was registred as a certain year due to or language issues (maybe the researcher was able only to understand the numeric value, not the text?) or to system/software issues (some old softwares for libraries, or even recent ones with misconfiguration, accepts only numbers in certain fields; is possible also that due to encoding issues data got partially corrupt and kept only numbers on cataloguing exchange between two or more libraries). Is possible that Domenico died months later his daughter, but we don't have resources to prove it ATM.

BTW Candalua, try using WEF. I was able to add references to unknown values on pages such Maria J. Magno (Q20644058) using it. At the right side of every field you will see a [n] button ([0], [2]...; screenshots on help page are a bit old). Click and you will be able to add many types of sources qualifiers. You may need to keep your mouse fully stopped while the page loads, or even do some (or lots) of page refreshs to get WEF: Person displayed on the right side due to some issues on MediaWiki, but WEF is really the most powerful gadget I've seen for Wikidata or even Wikimedia wikis at all.
