Cause of death[edit]
@Y.haruo: can you please point me the discussion, where community reached consensus that information based on reliable source such as AP is unacceptable because it is not from "official announcement"? --Ghuron (talk) 05:58, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- Please think about the reason why a heart attack is not listed in the infobox of Churkin's article.--Y.haruo (talk) 21:33, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Y.haruo: I don't know which wikipedia you are referring to, in my home ru-wiki we never list cause of death in infoboxes. But we have dedicated section that describes all circumstances regarding death cause disclosure, including AP episode. --Ghuron (talk) 05:16, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
- This is an opinion by anonymous person. Opinions can be included in articles, however, wikidata is not the place to put a personal opinion.--Y.haruo (talk) 06:17, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Y.haruo: So that opinion is good enough for wikipedia, AP, Independent, Guardian, Reuters and dozens of other highly respectable news agencies and not good enough for wikidata? Again, please demonstrate where community reached this consensus --Ghuron (talk) 07:16, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- Independent's article was quoted from AP, and the other two are articles before the autopsy was done. According to Wikidata:Verifiability#Authoritative sources, "unknown authors (or authors with little to no credibility) should be avoided as sources of information." An anonymous person is not a reliable source of information.--Y.haruo (talk) 11:00, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- Well, we obviously do not hear each other well. Can I at least add "death cause: unknown" to make sure that Mr. Churkin will not appear again in my searches? --Ghuron (talk) 11:12, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- I put "unknown" on the cause of death, but I do not know if this use is correct.--Y.haruo (talk) 17:07, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
