Rationale for this class
[edit]The need for this class item was established by the Linked Open Data Ecosystem for the Performing Arts (LODEPA) Working Group at meetups held on December 15, 2022 (minutes) and March 16, 2023 (minutes). This need was established upon describing open-air places that were specifically designed and equipped to hold events (i.e., access to power, a raised area/platform that can serve as a stage, raked audience area, acoustic shell, etc.).
The LODEPA Working Group has been meeting quarterly since 2020 to discuss modelling issues pertaining to the performing arts. The working group maintains the Wikidata:WikiProject Performing arts and the Wikidata:WikiProject Cultural venues. Fjjulien (talk) 01:25, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
