Descriptions in British and American English[edit]
I am trying to correct the description for pit-bull type dogs to read, essentially,
--for en-us, Type of dog descended from English bull-and-terrier dogs originally bred for dog-fighting
--for en-gb, American Pit Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier purebred, mix, or cross, not including Staffordshire Bull Terriers
and with the default being the American definition.
I don't see how to do that with the current interface, but am still new to Wikidata, so if someone wants to make these corrections, I would appeciate it! I wanted to add en-gb, but could not see how to do that. Veritas Aeterna (talk) 22:42, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
OK, I temporarily changed my language preferences to British English. Then I could enter the British English variant of pit bull. The more general description is the default. There may be slight variants in Australian and Canadian English, too.
