    Constructed by the Jesuits, the founders of the church of Palo, 1596. Taken over by the Augustinians, 1768; by the Franciscans, 1843. Repaired by Fr. Agustin de Consuegra, 1850; by Fr. Pantaleon de la Fuente, 1896. Used as provincial Capitol, February, 1899 to March, 1901, by Col. Ambrosio Mojica, governor of Leyte. Housed the first Seminary of Palo, 1925. (English)
