    Experienced PhD-qualified bioinformatician with a demonstrated history of providing support, direction and project leadership in both the commerical and academic environments. / Also MBA-qualified, with real-world small-company management experience, successfully presenting the benefits, and subsequently the outputs, of a cutting-edge service product to pharma, CRO and academic customers. / Skilled in many aspects of 'omics experimental design and analysis including, but not limited to, statistical analysis, annotation and interpretation of a diverse range of NGS-based "big data" collections, including genome assemblies, epigenetics, RNAseq, ChIPseq and GWAS in clinical cohorts. / Develop and maintain tools and custom pipelines primarily in R, bash/awk and Python, with report outputs generated as appropriate in html/CSS or other formats. / Recently elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biologists, I have also co-authored over 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals. / University of Edinburgh MSc Bioinformatics course organiser and teacher (topics include Unix admin, SQL, Python).
