D'Urfey died, ‘at the age of seventy,’ on 26 Feb. 1723, and was buried at St. James's Church, Piccadilly, where a Yorkshire slab tablet to his memory was placed on the south wall outside, with the concise inscription, ‘Tom D'Urfey, dyed Febry ye 26th, 1723.’ (English)
