The minister of Straiton, Mr. Johne M'Quorne asked the Presbytery's advice as to whether or not he could take a woman in Galloway named Jeane M'Murran around his parish to identify witches. He had sundry suspected witches as 'Jean took upon her the discoverie of witches throw the cuntrey.'
