Received at the Central Collecting Point from Stuttgart" (2) ; transporté de Stuttgart au Central Collecting Point de Wiesbaden le 18 avril 1947 et enregistré sous le numéro 4745 ; rapatrié vers la France par le dixième convoi en provenance de Baden-Baden le 20 juin 1951 ; retenu lors de la septième commission de choix des oeuvres de la récupération artistique du 28 mars 1952 (3) ; attribué au musée du Louvre par l'Office des Biens et Intérêts Privés la même année (4) ; déposé au Mobilier national de 1964 (5) à 1999 (7), date de son retour au musée du Louvre. Attached informally 1941-43 to the staff of Wuester in Paris. Some activity as intermediary in German art purchases and looting. Contact of Lohse, von Behr, Haberstock, Lange and Engel, and in social contact with the most prominent German museum officials and purchasing agents in France. Proceeded to Italy in 1943 on a mission unrelated to art activity. Uninformed on German purchasing or looting in Italy. In Allied custody, Rome, summer 1945. (English)
