Shortcut: WD:SCHelp:Shortcut
A shortcut is a redirect page that provides an abbreviated wikilink to a project page. Shortcuts are created for the convenience of the users and are commonly used on talk pages. If there is a shortcut for a page, it is often displayed at the top of the page next to the page title, as on this page (inserted with the template {{Shortcut}}).
The shortcuts are normally placed in the Wikidata namespace – which name can be abbreviated to WD – so they can be typed quickly. Shortcuts to talk pages are placed in the Wikidata talk namespace, which can be abbreviated to WT.
It is not technically possible to make a redirect page which automatically selects the right language version of a translatable page, so shortcuts to these pages will only go to the English page.
